Confined Space Awareness:

Confined spaces are areas that are fully or partially enclosed and may include tanks, pipelines, pressure vessels, boilers, and underground systems. Working in these environments carries unique risks due to limited access, poor ventilation, and potential hazardous atmospheres.

This training equips participants with the essential skills and knowledge to confidently and safely perform tasks within confined spaces, specifically tailored to those in resource, infrastructure, and similar industries where such environments are common.

Gas Detection & Atmosphere Testing:

This component focuses on atmospheric testing to ensure a safe working environment. Participants will learn how to use electronic gas detection equipment to assess air quality and identify potential dangers before starting work.

Learners will gain practical skills to interpret gas readings accurately and take appropriate actions, whether they’re entering a confined space, issuing work permits, or monitoring ongoing activities. This competency is critical when working in high-risk settings where hazards may be hidden, unpredictable, and time-sensitive.

Permit to Work – Understanding and Compliance:

This module ensures participants understand how to operate under a formal permit-to-work system. It provides clear guidance on the roles and responsibilities involved, permit limitations, and the steps required to maintain compliance while performing non-routine or hazardous tasks.

Ideal for anyone involved in maintenance, shutdowns, or specialist work within industrial plants or similar settings, this training ensures workers know how to work safely and within legal and site-specific requirements.

  • Operating in tanks, silos, pits, ducts, pipes, and ship holds
  • Conducting pre-entry testing and continuous atmospheric monitoring
  • Using handheld gas detectors or remote testing methods (e.g. lowering detectors into spaces)
