DIPLOMA OF CIVIL CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT

This qualification reflects the role of personnel working on a single or a group of civil construction sites, who perform tasks involving a high level of autonomy and require the application of significant judgement in planning and determining the selection of equipment/roles/techniques for themselves and others. They are required to develop site specific work instructions and practices to ensure the implementation of the site management systems, plans and policies. They demonstrate the application of a broad range of technical, managerial, coordination and planning skills.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

There are no formal entry requirements for this course however participants are required to have sufficient numeracy and literacy skills to read and comprehend instructions for:

  • Referencing and understanding legislation, standards
  • Preparing of reports.
  • Access to internet and computer

Currently employed within the Civil Construction Industry:

  • 3+ years of Civil Construction experience
  • Practical field experience as one of the following:
    • Supervisor, Foreman, Safety Supervisor, Project Manager

This is on-the-job training, so you need to be employed in the civil construction industry to undertake this course.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING

All students will be offered the opportunity to participate in a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process if they believe that they have suitable skills and knowledge through work experience or formal/informal training.
