Lead civil construction projects with confidence through advanced skills in project management, planning, leadership and operational performance. This nationally recognised qualification is designed for experienced civil construction professionals responsible for managing projects, supervising teams and delivering complex civil infrastructure works.
The qualification develops the knowledge and practical skills required to manage civil construction operations, including project planning, risk management, quality assurance, environmental management, budgets, procurement and workforce leadership. It is ideal for individuals progressing into senior supervisory, project management and construction management roles.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification.
This qualification is designed for experienced civil construction personnel currently employed within the industry.
Applicants are recommended to have:
- A minimum of three years’ experience in the civil construction industry.
- Experience in a supervisory, leading hand, foreperson, superintendent, project management or similar leadership role.
- Access to a workplace where management and leadership competencies can be demonstrated.
- Sufficient language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills to complete workplace documentation, interpret legislation, standards and project specifications, and participate in online learning.
DELIVERY METHOD
This qualification is delivered through a flexible blended learning model, combining self-paced online learning, workplace-based projects and scheduled trainer support. Participants also attend structured tuition days at Civil Train training centres, providing opportunities for collaborative learning, industry discussion, mentoring and the application of project management and leadership principles to real civil construction scenarios.
Assessment is integrated into the workplace wherever possible, enabling participants to apply learning directly to live civil construction projects and organisational systems.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available for experienced civil construction professionals who can demonstrate existing management, leadership and project delivery competencies gained through workplace experience, previous training or industry practice.
Where competency gaps are identified, additional training and assessment may be required before the qualification can be issued.
